Osteopathy for athletes

Why consult an osteopath?

When practicing a sport intensively, the body is put under unusual strain. Micro-traumas can lead to a decrease in muscle power, joint flexibility and respiratory capacity. Practicing a sport with high tensions further unbalances the body, and painful compensations are likely to be set up.

Osteopathy can help the athlete in his recovery and performance by restoring mobility to the body. Similarly, this complementary medicine is recommended following a trauma or a fall.

When to consult?

I recommend 3 to 4 maintenance sessions per year for regular athletes and one session after each competition or event.

The consultation of a sportsman to an osteopath can be done without a medical prescription. However, it is preferable to talk to your general practitioner beforehand.

Remember to take with you your last complementary exams (X-rays, blood tests...).
